2nd nastiest trip 2 goA

Well my 2nd trip to goa within a year. This time the plan and mates were different. and the experience was too likely.Thrusday…6:00 PM…My colleague Aseem stop by my desk and shared about the Goa trip on coming weekend. It was somewhat strange to me, even I suggested other nearby places. But Goa was the winner after the vote within 4 Pravin, Praveen, Aseem and me. So that’s final, we will go by rented Car(Avis Car Rentals), self drive(Aseem) and 800 KM …wow. Here we go, Friday night I started from office at 12:00AM…got the booked car(Swift D) from Avis office. Left room at 2:00AM, it took ONLY 2 hrs  to go out of city. NH7..simply fantastic..Aseem was driving on 120KM avg. I got all the route maps and Google map was on in my SE P1i. At around 9 in the morning at Raichur.

We halted there, just relaxed for 10 mins.  On the way to Bagalkot, we got problems in the car. Brake shoes was having a lot of noise, also the threads from front tire was exposed. We had to call many time to Avis to solve this, at Bagalkot we repair the brake and tire got changed with stepney. Moving on we reached at Belgaum, where we went on asking the good route to Goa. Most of localities advised a route via Tilari. We took their word, went on that route.

Here comes my life’s terrible journey. It was around 3 afternoon, raining out..no traffic…black clouds really made darkness everywhere. Initially we liked the road as it was no traffic, beautiful greenery outside with some Jungle. But after 1 hrs, god punished us for taking this road I believe….completely dark…no one was there…narrow bad road. Thankfully a gov bus came , and we followed that bus. Everyone were really frustrated, in fear(it was not at all safety road). Moving on slowly we reached at Tilari after 4 hrs where the bus reached its destination.

 We stopped there, inquired about the way 2 Goa. But we received really panic response, that…you cant go alone, its very dangerous….wait for a Tata Sumo in 1 hrs 4 partner….your swift cant cross the ghat roads…. might face some land slide due 2 rain . We started trembling..prayed god to get us out 4m here. requested the bus conductor to guide us till Goa, but he denied. A shopkeeper helped us, nonstop we drove till goa. On the way it was full of Mist, unable to see 1 meter in front even. Car speed was 5-10 KM/hr. After a lot of fear, frustration, panic, blah blah blah we reached at a hotel in Mapusa at 10:00PM. Got the dinner from the same hotel, I got my fav KF beer. I slept after 36 hrs, My special thanks to Aseem drove for 20 hr at a stretch, amazing!!!!

 

 Nxt day morning, at 10, went to Hotel Fidalgo after some sightseeing on the way. Hotel was good, 4 starred hotel, owned by Sunil Shetty.

We went to the Goan food section, having the pool beside with some embellishment.  Chk Vindaloo, Motton Xacuti, Prawn Xeque Xeque and Fish Xitt Codi are the goan food we njoyed  along with a couple of drinks…that was fantastic food. So then we travelled to Calungute beach, spent nearly 1 hrs on the beach. Beach guard requested to come out of water bCoz of the bad weather and  tide conditions. What to do now, spent some time in less water.

And next headed to Aguada Fort. I believe everyone liked this place, xlent scenic view. Took few photos, in different pose..in different places. Finally the Baga beach, played on the beach. And watched the sunset. Good scenic view with cloudy over the sea…took beer at the beach restaurants. Aseem wanted to have the body massage, so headed to Fidalgo for the massage. Me and Pravin had a good time at the restaurant..had some nice food with heavy drinks. Before that we booked the hotel nearby for that night.

 Monday morning everyone woke up at 9. Me and Aseem went to Avis Goa division for replacing the tires, it was done by 11. By that time we had some brunch, and also got the Schaffer for our return travel till Bijapur.

We started Goa at 12, this time we interested for Bijapur-Gulburga-Zaheerabad route. It took just 15 hrs to return..good at least. We reached HYD at 3:30 AM. Nextday morning we returned the car, surprisingly everyone was waiting for us as we spent a lot on Car. On average it was neither good nor bad trip. I experienced my life’s panic travel!!!Never the less thanks to my colleagues for a memorable trip to GOA.

3 nights and 2 Days at GOA……

Must be thinking why i started with the nights not the day………reason…our chuddy buddy group started adventuring and njoying Goa from night. I and 6 of my friends had adventured Goa in last Dasherra Season. It was a 4 day trip. And reaching in Goa started adventuring from day1 night. This trip we planned before 2 months prior to the travel. Dashera almost everyone will have the holiday, so we  dicided to go for it. So we choose this time our visit place is Goa, one of the best tourist place in india. In my previous blog i detailed our pathetic departure to goa. How we suffer due to Indian Railways cancellation of train, in which we booked for bothstart and return tickets.

We travelled from Hyderabad to Hubli and then to goa. It was completely a hectic journey. In the hotel room, a feeling was coming not to go out, but just to sleep and sleep. For everyone it was almost 24hr travels. So one can imagine how all of us after reaching and getting refreshed in the evening we just went for a evening walk and dinner. Along with the walk we also looked for shopping (some get up for the next day…u can understand) for the differently designed shorts, T-shirts. After that we wend to baga beach and seat there for 15 min under the moon lights. Returning on the way i purchased a Ray-Ban sunglass ;). I got that in 150Rs…ok for the stay in goa. Having very less shopping and roaming we move ahead to restaurant for dinner. Here we come to “Casa Gaon”. Everyone drunk a lot before having very less food. The 1st day dinner and drink was special as we started with the goa famous Fenny. It was good, only a bit smelly. And the main course, off course the goan food along with other non-veg item. We tried out the King fish, shark and then tiger prawns. Hmmm I can say king fish was very good. After the 1^st day drinks and dinner everyone had a nice and sound sleep. 10^th Oct a fresh morning we had our tea and toast.    

Activa Ride in Goa

Having a cool bath, we started to travel goa by renting Honda Activa. And I was alone in my Activa. We got 4 Activas. The rent was 250Rs a bike per day. There was also pulsar and avenger which are charged something around 350Rs a day. We first went to ATM to withdraw money. Then slowly we started moving to explore goa.

On the way we had the feelings and experiencing the climate of goa as it was too hot and humid. The whole body was sweats….ekdum chippu chippu. The two of our big fat guys Nandu and Dhabal were on a single activa which was amazing. One time I raised my speed to 100KM/Hr, it was a straight road. So njoyed the fast ride. So as planned we went to Arambol beach beside which we njoyed the sweet water lake. After reaching in the beach, we saw some nice hanky. Dhabal, Jane and Nandu got the good colors while i got a orange colored hanky. It was like Bajarang Dal activist while tagging on the head.

 We had a good time in the sweet water lake…guess karo kya hoga. Oh oh don’t think in that way….actually a bad nude guy (foreigner) started attacking a group of babes to hav some fun J (basically was trying to abuse/rape her). We were in a plan to roam around here and there but it was really too hot out there so changed our plan and started to have some lunch. We saw some nice restaurants along the sea shore but we planned to have lunch out side as it could be a bit expensive for all drinks as well as the food!!! Way back to the scooters we saw the fishermen caught some sea fish. It was like a huge no. of fish. I and Happy halted there to have some snaps with some unidentified species.

Then after, we had our lunch in just 30Rs a plate fish with rice along with beer. Then we move to Vagator beach and then after Fort of Aguada. The Vagator beach was also nothing much different to others, i can say okay to that. Fort of Aguada, even i don’t know the story of that but some one told me that Bollywood film ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ filmed there. So see what after reaching there started taking snaps standing here, then seating there and jumping in air (Happy). And also climbing on some entrance gates The sightseeing was good from that fort as it was located near to the sea shore.

There we find some Oriya family visiting, nearly 3 groups. We spent some 30 min there as we were in a plan to visit the Dona Paula next for the sunset. Coming out of the fort we had some lemon Soda. Moving on to Dona Paula then. The same time it’s started drizzling the whole distance. It was a bit cold; in between I was shivering while on the ride. Dona Paula a place where the sunset is very beautiful. At the place where two of Goa’s famous rivers meet the Arabian Sea is the secluded bay of Dona Paula with a fine view of the Marmagoa Harbor. This beach of Goa carries with it an aura of both romance and myth – haunted by Dona Paula de Menezes; tourists throng the Dona Paula beach. While on the way i was feeling like I am in US, ohh really the house, the lightings are made in such a way…everything was totally different. At last we started as it was too dark there to Calugunte, to our Hotel. We came back to Hotel and left our scooters. It’s the time for Dinner as we reached at 8:30 pm…dinner is what, as usual drinks and food. Today I tried the local wine. And then the Beer…see what my head started spinning and rolling for the 1^st time in my life. Nandu and Pabu took me to my room.

Day 3, we started moving to Candolim beach and then Anjuna beach for a bath. But didn’t find those good for bath. Even the beach was a bit dirty many were taking sea bath, not well maintained. Then again we came back to Baga Beach which was just close to our hotel and had a bath there. Nearly after spending 30 mins in the water, we went for the Banana ride. It was charged like 5 persons and in water 2 times for flung into sea @1000Rs.

Banana boat is like a long tube shaped with another two in two sides for resting the foot. But before the 2 times flung we got more 3-4 times due to gravity act by Dhabal. He was climbing from one side and falling in other. The funniest moment of this ride was while we started to take off and almost everyone was on the banana boat except Dhabal. So now what????Dhabal tried to get up onto the banana boat. His gravity act was too much that turned the boat down and resulted in a free banana ride to all of us that include the ride wala also.

And along with these sometimes all off us on the banana used to capsize by Dhabal. How can i forget that music by the ride wala while we were on the boat….something like…..dhinkachaka dhinkachaka music music….might be something lyric by him.

After that we came back to hotel for shower and then had lunch in restaurant. Came back to room for rest as we move ahead to Calungute Beach for the Sunset at 5 O’clock. It was great to see such scenery. I saw for the 1st time a “Sunset on the Sea”. It was completely colorful and excellent. I njoyed the Jet skiing.

  Got a Travera and started @ 8pm from Hubli. With lots of discomfort and less sleep we reached @6am morning at Begumpet, Hyderabad. But this time the travel was quite good than the Sumo travel from Goa to Hubli. Relaxed at room but nothing much as I got to ready for the office.

     So finally it was not that good trip, as it was full of hectic, pathetic and pain but its true that it was the moment of 7 friends meet and spent 4 days after 4 long years. I reached at office while in a sleeping mood. And the same day Daina travelled back to BBSR to resume his office. I think I will never plan for Goa to visit until unless a good plan and supporting.
